I haven't Knit ANY this year.

Earlier this year, I added a "Knit Meter" to my blog. This neat little website helps to keep track of how much you've knit (in a month, in a year, etc). It lets you calculate by the foot, yard, or mile.

I've had fun seeing my total keep increasing throughout the year. And it amazing to think how much yarn has passed through my fingers in the past 365 days. (My Dad has asked how much all that yarn costs. That is something I'd rather not think about :-)

Today, for the first time, I saw "I haven't knit any this year." This entire year!!! (well, that's not exactly true. I finished up a pair of baby socks last night, but left the bind off for this morning. So, technically, I've knit about 1 yard so far in 2010.

So, for the total? I've knit:
16,001 yards. Which is:
48,003 feet, or
576,036 inches, or
9.09 MILES of yarn.

And what has all that yarn become?
64 projects. Some as small as baby socks and coffee cozies. Some as large as sweaters and afghans. A few for me. A lot for others. All made with lots of love.

It's been a good year for knitting. It's been a good year for life.

I'm looking forward to 2010. I'm looking forward to seeing that knitting meter total go back up again.

But today? Today I'm giving my fingers a rest. Tomorrow, who knows what exciting project I'll start.

Happy New Year everyone! I pray this year brings joy and love and contentment.

How did you get it to show the total for the year? Mine will only show the total for the month.
